I Have searched through this site and tried to do a search online for review or comments on cable pullers.

I have a 120 ft run: (3) 500 MCM copper, (1) 250 MCM copper & (1) 1/0 copper in a 4" EMT pipe. This run has four 90 degree sweeps, unfortunatly this was the only way it could be installed.

Does anyone have any experience, comments or reviews on cable pullers. How is the Maxis Pull-it ? Maxis Pull-it ?

I agree with the weight problem but it is the best Tugger for the money.

If you haven't done a pulling force calculation for this pull you need to do one. You may exceed the maximum permitted sidewall pressure (crushing force between the conductors and the inside radius of the 90) if you used standard radius 90s. There is an online calculator here.. You have to do each straight section and each bend as separate calculations.
Don I have not done the tension calculation yet, i am actually trying to work on it now (thank you for the link). I appreciate all of you comments and additional comments, recomendations, and advice. i am trying to get through this calculation but am not sure if i am getting it right.

There is a 90 degree sweep comming out of the meter pan straight about 10 ft to the next 90 degree sweep. From that sweep it is about 50 ft of straight pipe to the next 90 degree sweep, then 5-6 ft of straight pipe to the last 90 degree sweep then 2-3 ft of straight pipe which connects to the bottom of the 400 amp panel.

I am fairly new to the larger wire pulling applications and appreciate all of your help.

tony Thank you everone for their advice, i really do appreciate it. I have actually contacted the maxis tools rep in the Ny are and have asked for an on site demonstration. He will bring everything to pull the 400 amp service (except the wire ofcourse and pulling grips). I will let everyone know how it goes and how good it works.

Does anyone have any preferences to pulling grips or other pulling head attachments?

I also tried to contact the ray-tools reps but cannot find someone in this area.

Tony i have not used the maxis we use the greenlee u mount on the floor so as long as u have guys that know how to feed the wire not to cross them up keep them staight make a nice head or the best is to use a basket get plenty of soap 120 feet is not bad at all
