pesky power steering leak

If you have the large banjo fitting as the high pressure hose attachment point it can be fixed cheaply and easily.

Tap out the banjo fitting with a 3/8" NPT pipe tap. Then a 3/8" male pipe to 1/4" hydraulic hose fitting for that end.



Then cut off the hose to the steel bend going behind the surge tank. Cut it so the splice will be above the fuel line to fuel rail fittings.



Get a male 3/8" compression fitting to male 1/4" hydraulic fitting. Get a hose to fit at a farm/hardware store. Usually 12" to 18" is what is ready made.


I used hose barbs and hydraulic hose. It works good too but not as pretty as using the straight hydraulic hose fittings.

The factory fix is a Teflon ring which you get with a new tip IIRC.
