Timken vs. National Bearings

I passed the Timken plant last year and You should see all the steel they have in the yard! I drooled so to speak thinking of what I could make. Then realized, it is specialized steel for the bearings. They had a couple of train cars on the siding in the yard when I passed.. It looks like quite a facility and must make a huge amount of bearings and cups..

You are right . I used to work for a company that rebuilt rearends for underground mining equipment and we were only aloud to use timken or national products .A timken rep came in one day and said that most bearing companys buy bearings and seals from timken and package as their own .
