There are some rather deal breaking things that people do whether knowingly or unknowingly when they want to sell their used cars that should be avoided, especially in classifieds. Firstly, when potential buyers are in the channel of buying a car they will go through a lot of local ads to find the best used cars available and suiting their needs. You as the seller have to be informed of this and should never tell the reasons why you are trying to sell your car in your classifieds. This information in the local ads does not concern the buyer and will most probably cause them to see your desperation if any and will pay low for your used cars. What you could do is add more details about the used cars in the classifieds. As many people use the misconception of models to be great attractions for buying a car; that is not the case. No matter how attractive the photos might look when a model or models appear in front of the used cars, the fact still remains that the classifieds are representative of the used cars. Although you will drive traffic to your classifieds, most of the folks won’t be interested in you used cars. Another closely related factor to avoid is lying or deceiving the buyer; it is not just bad for the buyers but could be very unhealthy for your business. Review your classifieds and make sure there are no mistakes or whatever is stated is directly the condition of the used cars. If the vehicle is not as per original manufacturer’s standards then do not talk about it being in ‘perfect condition’. Do not over price your products. It is common for any seller to list their product at a higher price than what they are really willing to sell it at, but this does not mean that they should take it too high. You should not raise the price of your cars to the point that buyers scoff your classifieds but rather research a fair price that is standardized. You should also not go too low on the price because you intend to initiate a negotiation from the buyer on your used cars; if you under price it, you will either impose suspicion on the buyers or be aiming to make a loss. It obvious for any advertisement to be short and precise, so do not use too much words to define your sale. No buyer will want to read a whole story about your cars when checking out your classifieds. This can be tricky as it’s hard to know when you have exceeded the required details on your classifieds. But it is easy to keep it simple, you may try to avoid long streams of text and rather break it into easily readable paragraphs. At the same time you should strive to avoid excessive punctuation of your advert and keep yourself from using capital words unless necessary. Use the KISS principle – keep it simple sweetie!
